Self-care is a gift to yourself

Many of us often find it easier to care about other people and their needs. We are happy to be there for others, offer advice and support, and are willing to give a lot (of ourselves).

The motives for our actions are multifaceted; we are "helpful, generous, reliable, compassionate and empathetic" at the core of our being. We have a strong sense of duty and like to take responsibility. When we make others happy, our heart sings. Appreciation and recognition are important to us.

All wonderful qualities that enable us to establish, maintain and sustain trusting relationships. Privately and professionally.

How often do you forget yourself to be there for others?

My journey inward began in its depth when I realized how important it is to also say 100% YES to myself. This recognition was the initiation into an inner, challenging and immeasurably precious transformation that began many years ago and remains alive in me.

YES to me as a woman. YES to everything that makes me as a human being; the beautiful and the difficult. A confronting YES. A YES without compromise, without a guilty conscience, without guilt. A YES full of compassion and acceptance. A YES to self-love and self-care. A YES to prioritizing this quest to create more freedom and peace within myself.

The journey inward never leads past ourselves.

How much do you care about yourself?
